CARTA OG — How to Clean

Updated Jun 1, 2024 3 min read

Regular cleaning keeps your CARTA OG hitting clean and prevents residue buildup that causes error codes and connectivity issues. Clean every 10–30 sessions.

What you'll need

  • 90% isopropyl alcohol (70% minimum)
  • 50% isopropyl wipes
  • Cotton swabs (Q-tips)
  • Paper towels
  • A small container for soaking
  • Optional: funnel for glass top

Step-by-step

  1. 1
    Power off and cool down

Always clean a fully cooled device. Never pour liquid on a hot atomizer.

  2. 2
    Disassemble

Remove the glass top, then twist the atomizer counterclockwise off the base. If stuck, run a 15-second low-temp session, power off, and wait until cool to the touch before removing.

  3. 3
    Clean the atomizer

Remove the silicone bumper and carb cap tether. Soak the atomizer in 90% isopropyl for 5–10 minutes. Shake, remove, and dry with a paper towel. Air dry for 1–2 hours before using — do not use while wet.

  4. 4
    Clean the glass top

Pour isopropyl into the glass top via the mouthpiece until it covers the percs. Stopper the mouthpiece and shake for 60 seconds. Pour out into a container, stand the glass upright in the container for 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water until all isopropyl is removed.

  5. 5
    Clean the base

Use a 50% isopropyl wipe on the atomizer port and gold contact pin. Use a cotton swab to clean inside the port and the silicone glass connection point. Never pour liquid directly onto the base exterior — wipe and dry immediately if it gets wet.

  6. 6
    Reassemble when fully dry

Make sure every component is completely dry before reassembling. If you hear crackling on the first session after cleaning, cancel immediately and allow more drying time.
