CARTA Classic — Over/Under Heating

Updated Jun 1, 2024 3 min read

If your CARTA Classic is not reaching the set temperature, overshooting it, or producing inconsistent heat, the most common fix is recalibrating the atomizer. The CARTA Classic requires a manual recalibration process (unlike newer devices).

Troubleshooting steps

  1. 1
    Update firmware

Connect the device to the V Browser app (www.focusv.app) and install any available firmware updates. Firmware updates can resolve heating inaccuracies caused by software bugs.

  2. 2
Let the device reach room temperature

Use an external thermometer to verify the device is as close to 77°F (25°C) as possible before calibrating. Calibrating at the wrong ambient temperature will produce inaccurate results.

  3. 3
    Enter calibration mode

Press the power button 4 times consecutively. On the 4th press, hold the button until you observe the reset/calibration sequence. Release once the LED pattern confirms calibration mode.

  4. 4
    Verify temperature after calibration

Fire the device and allow it to complete a full heat cycle. Use the external thermometer to confirm the actual temperature matches the set preset. If off, repeat the calibration.

  5. 5
Register and submit warranty claim if unresolved

If heating issues persist after calibration, register your product at focusv.com/apps/product-registration and submit a support request at portal.focusv.com.
