CARTA Classic — Incorrect Atomizer Detection
The CARTA Classic automatically detects the attached atomizer and switches between concentrate and dry herb modes. If the device reads the wrong mode, the causes are usually dirty connections, improper seating, or a pushed-down connection pin.
Common causes
- Residue or concentrate buildup on the atomizer connection pins
- Atomizer not fully seated — threading engaged but not flush
- Connection pin on the base is pushed down or misaligned
- Outdated firmware affecting atomizer detection logic
- Damaged or corroded contact points
Troubleshooting steps
- 1Update firmware
Connect the CARTA Classic to the V Browser app (www.focusv.app) and check for firmware updates. Firmware updates often resolve detection issues.
- 2Clean the connection points
Remove the atomizer. Use a cotton swab with 90% isopropyl to clean the connection pins on both the atomizer and the device base. Ensure no wax, concentrate, or debris remains on the threading or pin surfaces.
- 3Inspect and adjust the connection pin
Examine the connection pin inside the atomizer port. If it appears flat, pushed in, or blocked by residue, apply a small amount of isopropyl and allow 30 seconds for debris to dissolve. Use a toothpick or pin to gently lift the pin to the correct raised position.
- 4Reseat the atomizer
Thread the atomizer back in carefully, ensuring it is flush and not sitting at an angle. The atomizer must be fully seated for proper contact.
- 5Submit a warranty claim if unresolved
If the device still reads the atomizer incorrectly after these steps, submit a warranty claim at portal.focusv.com with details of the steps you have taken.
