CARTA Classic — How to Use

Updated Jun 1, 2024 3 min read

The CARTA Classic is a discontinued device that is still fully supported. Before your first session, charge the device fully using the included USB-C cable and an AC/DC adapter rated for 5V 1–2A. Charging takes up to 2 hours.

Basic operation

  1. 1
    Charge

Plug in via USB-C until all LEDs illuminate solid green. Do not leave charging for more than 2 hours.

  2. 2
    Power on

Click the power button 5 times. The LEDs will blink 3 times on startup — the number of LEDs indicates charge level (3 LEDs ≈ 75%).

  3. 3
    Select a heat preset

Press the power button once to activate a preset. Press again to cycle through all 4 presets. A solid blue LED shows the active preset.

  4. 4
    Start a session

Double-click the power button to begin heating. The LEDs blink blue while heating. When the target temp is reached, LEDs turn solid green.

  5. 5
    Inhale

Take slow, steady draws. The slower the draw, the better the vapor stacks. Avoid pulling hard — it can cause concentrate to splash into the inner chamber.

  6. 6
    Power off

Click the power button 5 times to power off after your session.

Heat presets

The CARTA Classic has 4 built-in temperature presets. For a more flavorful experience, lower temperatures (400–500°F) are recommended. Custom temperatures below Preset 1 require the V Browser app (www.focusv.app).

  • Preset 1: 500°F
  • Preset 2: 630°F
  • Preset 3: 770°F
  • Preset 4: 850°F

Loading methods

  • Cold start — Load concentrate before firing. Best for crumble, shatter, budder. More flavorful. Recommended: 400–500°F.
  • Hot start — Load concentrate after the device reaches set temperature. Best for fresh press, resin sauce. Recommended: 450–550°F.

Other controls

  • 4x click — Check battery level (number of LEDs = battery level)
  • 3x click — Cycle LED color presets (3 colorways + stealth mode)
