AERIS Bubbler — How to Clean
A clean Bubbler means better flavor and smoother hits. Plan on a full clean every 20 sessions — or sooner if you notice buildup or a change in taste.
What you'll need
- 90% isopropyl alcohol (70% minimum)
- Two containers (one for soaking, one for rinsing)
- Clean water for rinsing
- Dab swabs
- Paper towels
Step 1 — Disassemble
- 1Power off the AERIS
Press the V button 5 times to power off. Never clean any component while the device is on or warm.
- 2Remove the Bubbler from the AERIS
Lift the Bubbler straight up off the AERIS base. The magnetic connection will release cleanly.
- 3Pop off the Magnetic Adapter
The Magnetic Adapter is a separate piece that sits between the AERIS and the Bubbler. Pull it off the base of the Bubbler and set it aside — it gets cleaned separately.
- 4Remove the Swivel and silicone pieces
Detach the swivel assembly from the tether. Separate the silicone cap piece from the glass stem and remove the silicone insert piece. Set all silicone pieces aside.
- 5Empty the water
Pour the Bubbler's water into a waste container. Don't pour it down the sink — it contains concentrate residue.
Step 2 — Clean
- 1Soak the Bubbler and glass stem
Submerge the Bubbler and the glass swivel stem in a container of isopropyl alcohol. Let soak for 10 minutes, shaking occasionally to loosen residue.
- 2Soak the silicone pieces
Place the silicone swivel cap and silicone insert piece into the same isopropyl soak. These collect reclaim and benefit from a full soak.
- 3Clean the Magnetic Adapter
Wipe the Magnetic Adapter down with a dab swab dipped in isopropyl. Get into the contact surfaces on both sides. Dry immediately with a paper towel — don't soak it.
- 4Shake and rinse the Bubbler
After soaking, give the Bubbler several firm shakes to dislodge loosened residue. Pour out the isopropyl into your waste container. Then dunk and shake the Bubbler in a separate container of clean water until all isopropyl is rinsed out.
- 5Rinse the glass stem and silicone pieces
Rinse all remaining pieces under clean water. Pat dry with a paper towel.
Step 3 — Dry and reassemble
- 1Air dry completely
Stand all pieces upright on a paper towel and allow to air dry for at least 1 hour. The silicone pieces and Bubbler interior need to be fully dry before reassembly — any moisture left in the airpath will crackle on your first session.
- 2Reassemble the swivel
Fit the silicone insert piece back into place, slide the glass stem in, and press the silicone cap onto the top. Reattach to the tether.
- 3Attach the Magnetic Adapter
Press the Magnetic Adapter back onto the base of the Bubbler until it seats firmly.
- 4Fill and reattach
Fill the Bubbler to just below the triangle marker, then lower it back onto the AERIS. The magnet will click into place.
