AERIS — How to Clean

Updated Jan 10, 2024 3 min read

Clean your AERIS every 25–50 sessions to maintain flavor, prevent error codes, and extend device life. You'll need: 70–90% isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs, paper towels, and a small soaking container.

Atomizer cleaning

  1. 1
    Power off and cool down

Click the V button 5 times to power off. Wait until the atomizer is cool and safe to touch — at least 2 minutes after the last session.

  2. 2
    Remove the atomizer

Grip the lower cylinder and turn counterclockwise to unscrew. If it feels stuck, run a 15-second session at the lowest temperature (Blue preset) to loosen residue, then power off and cool before removing.

  3. 3
    Remove silicone accessories

Take off the silicone bumper and carb cap tether. These should not be submerged with the atomizer.

  4. 4
    Soak in isopropyl

Place the atomizer in a container with 70–90% isopropyl alcohol. Soak for 10 minutes. Give it a shake halfway through.

  5. 5
    Clean connection points

After soaking, use an isopropyl-dampened swab to clean the atomizer's connection pins, removing any remaining residue.

  6. 6
    Dry completely

Pat dry with a paper towel. Air dry for at least 1 hour (2 hours is ideal). Do not reinstall or use while any moisture remains.

  7. 7
    Reinstall

Thread the dry atomizer back in clockwise until snug. Run a 15-second test session at the lowest temperature to confirm proper operation.

Mouthpiece cleaning

  1. 1
    Remove the silicone mouthpiece

Grip the silicone mouthpiece and pull it straight off the AERIS body. It detaches magnetically and comes off as a single unit with the ceramic insert inside.

  2. 2
    Push out the ceramic insert

Hold the silicone mouthpiece with the mouth opening facing you. Place both thumbs on the mouth end and push firmly inward. The ceramic insert pops out the other end.

  3. 3
    Clean the ceramic insert

Soak the ceramic in 70% isopropyl alcohol for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Pat dry and allow to air dry fully before reinstalling.

  4. 4
    Clean the silicone mouthpiece

Rinse the silicone under warm water. Use a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl to clean the interior air pathway. Allow to dry completely.

  5. 5
    Reinstall the ceramic

Align the ceramic with the keys inside the silicone and press firmly back in with both thumbs from the mouth end until it seats flush.

  6. 6
    Reattach to the AERIS

Press the silicone mouthpiece back onto the AERIS body. The magnet will pull it into place.

Cleaning frequency

  • After every session — Swab atomizer cup with a dry swab while warm
  • Every 25–50 sessions — Full atomizer soak and base port cleaning
