CARTA OG — Using the Dry Herb Atomizer

Updated Jun 1, 2024 3 min read

The Focus V Dry Herb Atomizer lets you vaporize flower through your CARTA OG. This guide covers loading, temperature settings, inhalation technique, and cleanup.

What you'll need

  • CARTA OG with Dry Herb Atomizer installed
  • Quality herb grinder
  • Dab tool or small scoop
  • 70% isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs for cleanup

Step-by-step

  1. 1
    Grind your herb

Use a quality grinder to get a medium-fine consistency — not powder-fine, not chunky. Even consistency means even vaporization.

  2. 2
    Pack the chamber

Load 0.5–0.7g of ground herb into the Dry Herb Atomizer chamber. Pack loosely — tight packing restricts airflow and reduces vapor quality. The herb should just cover the mesh screen.

  3. 3
    Set temperature

Recommended range: 380–420°F (193–215°C). Higher temperatures increase density but risk combustion. Use the V Browser app (www.focusv.app) to dial in custom temperatures below Preset 1.

  4. 4
    Cap the atomizer

Attach the rubber grommet carb cap to the atomizer for an airtight seal. This is required for effective dry herb vaporization.

  5. 5
    Fire and wait

Double-click the power button to start a session. Allow an additional 15–30 seconds after the device reaches temperature for vapor to stack in the chamber.

  6. 6
    Inhale slowly

Take long, slow draws. Pulling hard brings cool air in and weakens vapor. The slower the draw, the denser and more flavorful the hit.

  7. 7
    Stir between hits

Use a dab tool to lightly stir the herb between draws. This exposes unvaporized material and extends the life of each bowl.

  8. 8
    Discard AVB

When herb turns brown (not black), the session is done. Remove the atomizer, tip upside down, and tap out the ABV (already-been-vaped) material. ABV can be saved for edibles or tinctures.

Cleaning the Dry Herb Atomizer

The Dry Herb Atomizer does not have a removable lid. If the mesh screen becomes clogged, remove the atomizer and clear it with compressed air or a dry brush. Do not soak in isopropyl — the mesh can be damaged. Wipe the outside with a dry cloth.
