AERIS — Replacing the Battery

Updated Jan 10, 2024 2 min read

The AERIS battery is a proprietary module that attaches to the main body via a quarter-turn twist lock with a magnetic assist. Only the official Focus V AERIS replacement battery is compatible — no third-party or generic battery will work.

Removing the battery

  1. 1
    Power off the AERIS

Click the V button 5 times to power off completely before handling the battery.

  2. 2
    Grip the battery module

Hold the main AERIS body in one hand and grip the battery module (the middle cylinder section) with the other.

  3. 3
    Twist left a quarter turn

Rotate the battery module to the left (counterclockwise) approximately a quarter turn. The magnetic connection will release and the battery will separate from the body.

Installing the replacement battery

  1. 1
    Align the keys

Look at the connection point on the battery module and the AERIS body. Line up the alignment keys so the two pieces mate correctly — they will only connect in the correct orientation.

  2. 2
Let the magnet guide it in

Bring the battery close to the body connection point. The magnet will pull the two pieces together into alignment.

  3. 3
    Twist right a quarter turn

Rotate the battery module to the right (clockwise) a quarter turn until it locks into place. It should feel secure with no wobble.

  4. 4
    Power on and test

Click the V button 5 times to power on and confirm normal operation.
